Competition Format:
Introductory Information:
We leave NWC around 2:45-3:00, depending on how far away the competition is
NWC always provides transportation
Competitions normally last from ~3:45-5:00
We send a minimum of five students and a maximum of ten students
Five students make up the A-Team; five students make up the B-Team
B Team scores do not count towards our school's rank
Once we arrive at the school, we head to the cafeteria and wait for round one to begin
This is a good time for last-minute review and practice
Induvidual Round Information:
There are five induvidual rounds
Each student competes in three out of the five rounds
All rounds are ten minutes long
Each round consists of three problems
The first question is worth one point, the second question is worth two points, and the third question is worth three points
A student can earn a maximum of 18 points induvidually, and a team can earn a maximum of 90 points
Team Round Information:
Only the A-Team participates in the Team Round
All five members of the A-Team work together on five extra difficult problems
A maximum of 15 points can be earned in the Team Round
